Videos to watch from MMD Cup 12

12th MMD Cup is over. The results have been summed up; the winners have been announced and got their share of esteem. But I believe the idea behind the event is not determining winners. The works have value that is hard to measure by any way, they are made not to compete but to tell their own stories. Each is very different from the others, some manage to do it better, some lack. But as the stories differ, so do the listeners. That’s why I like it so much – each time it’s personal experience, and the real winners are not those who try to please everyone but those who aim to reach the maximum intensity of this personal experience.

Now off with pathetic ranting. Here is an array of works which VMW considers worthy of attention, and each one of them is anything but ‘pathetic’. From action-packed shoot-em’-ups to ecchi-packed ehh… excercises, the best from the East – under the cut!

(Gun –Action Short Movie) 「Alarmageddon」

You do not mess with Meiko :) Actually, 3038-san tried to motion-trace (and clock-trace) a notorious “Alarmageddon” video. Can’t say this is the first attempt to digitalize it. Can’t even say this is the second. But so far MikuMikuDance version looks the most impressive! :)

BLACKLAGOON [Sakuya no Roberta Gokko]

Going on with Hong-Kong action movies theme, here is a work from Funii (Burakura-P). If I’m not mistaken, it reproduces the scene from Black Lagoon anime, only with a bunch of Touhou characters. Now I should say this is the PROPER Touhou action, not some flying in the air, flashing pantsu, and shooting fireworks :) Featuring here are: Miss Izayoi with a gun, saucer-sized-shades and the desire to kill, and Yuugi Hoshiguma with a gun, tits and… actually, tits and gun are already enough :) Unlimited ammo and zero accuracy (or is it bullet-proof?) modes are ON :)

Reisen Udongein Inaba VS Konpaku Youmu

If you are ready, we are turning up the heat. This is the second video of moon bunny onslaught, only this time it’s just a… massacre. First Miss Inaba shoots every Vocaloid that gets in her field of view, sending Haku and Teto to digital hell just for the company. Then Miss Youmu nakes her katana (sakura petals on the grip, how romantic!) and slaughters a pack of totally innocent Sailor girls. The action evolves further, now Touhou fans will see how their beloved waifus characters are being killed in a slo-mo… But we already know how it’s going to end, right? :) And no, not a single drop of blood will spoil the perfectly serene video… Damn them rating restrictions!

Touhou Pro Wrestling chuukei

If you think that with wrestling we will continue action theme, you are mistaken gravely. Action in Touhou restling? C’mon, dude! Touhou wrestling is nothing but pantsu shots, yuri kissu-kissu, some speculative meddling in the ropes, pantsu shots again, a couple of other weird things, and TOTALLY NUTTY REIMU HAKUREI. Because who the fuck needs action when there are pantsu shots is Reimu? :)
