Teto, Ritsu & Maiko - Vitamin C

Why, who’d sing a parody better than a ragtag band of Vipperloids? Teto laments about the immense grievances she experienced in our crooked world… somehow connected to several myths surrounding the benefits of Vitamin C… Well, as if it matters! :) Solid and powerful heavy metal is surprising though, you rarely encounter such a sound even in more serious works nowadays… Perhaps that’s what makes a parody a good parody!

Kasane Teto - doppel

Unfortunately, Kasane Teto isn’t a frequent guest here on VMW. So the fact she majestically grants us a second good song in a row is kinda special event :) Surprisingly,  a combination of Teto and alternative metal is not as cute as with heavy metal, but too much cuteness is ill for the mental health of a metalhead ;) Besides, ‘doppel’ has solid blues vibes which is not a common feature of the scene. It also boasts such an awesome bass drum punch I still refuse to believe it can exist! Really, guys, just how many oddities are there in one tune? :)

Kasane Teto - Faith Flag

A combination of Teto and heavy metal turns out to be insanely cute. Mostly because of Teto as you may wonder :) Still when I hear Teto singing the words ‘hallowed be thy name’ I can’t help but grin widely :)

Kasane Teto - in your dream

This is a track from the album “A World Of Impulse” which was released some three years ago. It is the only track there created by Yuuchan. The producer wasn’t much active on Vocaloid scene since 2011, and that’s sad, because Yuu clearly has a great potential…

“In your dream” is post-hardcore of excellent breed. It incorporates nearly every element of the genre. The guitars sound curt, they are tuned rather ‘dry’ for me. The guitars do the most of work here, the support from synths is not so pronounced.

There’s not much post-hardcore works with Teto, so her voice sounds rather fresh. Moreover, I must say the vocals fit rather nice the music. That would more than suffice for Teto, we can’t demand much of her ;)

Kasane Teto - I know...maybe

Teto is continuing to gather birthday presents :) . The one from Zeki is a pretty heavy metal song. It features tasty guitars sound with fearsome bassu backup. The prominence of the guitars can only be surpassed by the awfulness of Teto’s eh… synthetic noises (I refuse to call it ‘singing’ ;) ). So yeah, guys, that is how unpolished, native Teto’s voice sounds. And this is the most popular UTAU. Dreadful, isn’t it? :)

Kasane Teto - Goodbye

Yesterday was April’s Fools Day which is, of course, the birthday of Kasane Teto. I’m a bit late on it :( but still let me introduce a song that tahi_bassist has made on the occasion. This is an absolutely amazing hard rock, vigorous, potent and wicked as hell. Everything, from mix quality to guitar solo is just superb! Nice present, Teto, eh? :)

To look infernal Teto doesn’t need wings nor tail anymore… :)

Kasane Teto - Lost

After all this post-hardcore tiresome emotional distress an easy-going hard rock is like a welcome breath of fresh air. And after all the producers’ efforts to make Vocaloids sound naturally Kasane Teto’s ehh… let’s call it singing… is like a punch in the guts. Well, let’s be indulgent to Teto, she isn’t a frequent guest on VMW… :)

Kasane Teto - Kinen hajime mashita

An excellent piece from tahi_bassist. It’s industrial/alternative metal, beautiful in its straightforwardness, fresh and quite energetic. The mix quality is awesome, with juicy distorted guitars and some accents on original bassu character. The guitar solo is far above the level of the broader industrial scene, to say the least.

The title translates as “I quit smoking”, and the song draws from the recent experience of tahi_bassist himself. Be strong, man! :) At least your decision’s yielded a nice song, which is a gross achievement! :) Teto, despite lacking any capabilities, sounds robust enough. She is being helped by Hakaine Maiko, who’s splendid (as always), and Ritsu (though I haven’t managed to find any traces of him ;) ).

Namine Ritsu & Kasane Teto & Hakaine Maiko - Kagerou

I have been waiting quite long for a song like that. And I’ve been rewarded. Pounding sound of guitars, machine-gun-like bursts of bass drums, uncompromising, hulking bassu… Nu metal or metalcore, whatever you like, guided by *properly* crafted screaming of Hakaine Maiko... Switched theme in the chorus, completely different yet perfectly fit. Fine, Ritsu, Ritsu’s always been in place, but I never expected such a good support from Teto! Teto *sounds*, guys, she does this in duet, but she *does* nevertheless! An epochal accomplishment, a miracle, a dream come true!  ;)))

In fact, Maiko does most of work here, so it’d be better to use her image. Or Teto’s, she well deserves it. But no, Namine Ritsu has reaped all the benefits. As always. For obvious reasons.

Yuzuki Yukari & Kasane Teto - Plastic Marionette

An excellent post-hardcore work from Yokomin. The music is vibrant and heavy yet captivating. Mighty bass drums strokes, thrilling guitar riffs together with low Yukari’s voice make quite an impressive atmosphere. Teto sounds A WAY poorer than Yukari does. Bet you're not surprised, not to mention Yukari sounds exceptional here. Can’t say if the contrast was left intentionally…

Kasane Teto & Namine Ritsu - Flame Heart

Fuck, guys, I’m melting out by this song like a snowman under the blowtorch. If there is a perfect j-rokku storm then “Flame Heart” is quite close to it. The song is from the Death-ohagi’s new album “Super Kasane Teto collection”. Just if you’re wondering, the whole album isn’t that ‘Super’ from the general HM/HR perspective…

But “Flame Heart” is a notable exception. Wild, swift, vigorous guitars and even wilder pair of vocalists. Teto sounds quite charming here, together with Ritsu they form a fearsome duet. The video also adds several points to the overall score. Back to the fire!

Finally, Ritsu’s clothes don’t wake a sickening feeling in me. But I don’t know if it is a good sign or an opposite…
