Yuzuki Yukari - Colorful Pastel

A beautiful (as always) mellow post-hardcore arrange from Yokomin with beautiful (as always) Yukari’s vocals. What’s new (at least for me) is Yokomin himself singing along with Yukari too. Why, the guy has great voice :) I could even say Yukari and Yokomin-san match together so well! (insert some sweet emoji here)

Last but not the least, today’s Yokomin 22th birthday! VMW wishes the producer lots of joy, even more energy and for all even wildest his dreams to come true! We believe in you, man! :)

A Place Where You Hope - EP review

Yokomin started producing Vocaloid music not a long time ago – only one year has passed since the first his work was published on Nico. But here we are – an EP’s already out, presented at Comiket 86 event August, 17 and sold out the same day. The latter came quite unexpectedly for the producer himself – 80 copies seem to be a horrific amount for the first time :) Well, my congratulations!

I must be a spoiled person, but the EP’s title… Don’t you find it a bit… eh, too customary? Well, perhaps that’s because it’s in English (Yokomin tends to name his songs in English as well). Some “Anata ga kibou suru tokoro” would sound alien enough to pass :)

The cover art, drawn by the expert hand of Gonmaru-san, must’ve contributed to the success substantially. See for yourselves.

Yuzuki Yukari - Distance

A beatiful song from Yokomin. A bit off his usual style, this sounds more like grunge but still keeps subtle post-hardcore flavor. Low tempo, deep and rich bassu, acoustic guitar and piano entwining melodies make this song distinct and soulful. No need to say Yukari’s vocals add to the sound perfectly, bringing the touch of magic that breathe true life into the work.

The song is from the upcoming Yokomin’s EP. The name isn’t yet defined. The album will be distributed on C86 Comiket event (sometime in August).

Yuzuki Yukari - Yume sakura

Yokomin is up with a new song too. Sakura theme again (‘yume’ translates as ‘dream’). I’m tired of it already, but soon it’ll be over :) The song features wild and dirty sound of distorted guitars, awesome bass drums line and intense thrashing of cymbals… Yukari’s voice, sober and clear, makes a nice contrast with all this brutality. The chorus where the producer drops the rush a bit seems to be a weaker part… But… But… DOES IT REALLY BEAR STRIKING RESEMBLANCE TO “BAD APPLE!!” CHORUS or it’s just my weird imagination? :)

For me Yukari in a short dress works far better than any blossoming tree :)

Yuzuki Yukari - Proof

Yokomin-san has released a new song, and it’s brilliant! Well, I expected nothing less… The music’s more complicated and more innovative this time. Yokomin stitches together pieces of very different style and character, making a stunning soundscape, beautiful in its diversity and flawless in design…

Double bass drums are so keen they pierce your ears :)  They make a solid base, and snare drum is used less, which gives a bit unusual sound for percussion. It contrasts nicely with lyrical symphonic sequences. And Yuzuki Yukari accounts for much of the song’s integrity. She’s outright awesome! The producer puts her in the centre of the sound composition. She sings with an amazing intensity yet at the same time her voice keeps all the gently, emotional notes.

The guy’s decided to work on an album. Good luck! Consider me on the wait list. :)

Yuzuki Yukari & Kasane Teto - Plastic Marionette

An excellent post-hardcore work from Yokomin. The music is vibrant and heavy yet captivating. Mighty bass drums strokes, thrilling guitar riffs together with low Yukari’s voice make quite an impressive atmosphere. Teto sounds A WAY poorer than Yukari does. Bet you're not surprised, not to mention Yukari sounds exceptional here. Can’t say if the contrast was left intentionally…
